Zeitoun Summary

Hey guys, its Fatima and I will be making a claim that Zeitoun was a martyr for his religious beliefs while referencing for the book Zeitoun by Dave Eggers. In the book Zeitoun, Eggers talks about how alive and full of purpose he felt after saving five people within his first day after Katrina hit New Orleans. Eggers writes that Zeitoun "felt compelled to stay by a power beyond his own reckoning" (106). This means that Zeitoun felt that it was in God's plan that he stayed in the city to help stranded citizens and others in need. I believe that he trusts so much in his religious beliefs of helping thy neighbors that he was willing to risk his safety and stay in a city that he knew was full of danger.
